TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Police Department arrested a 37-year-old Texarkana, Arkansas man for driving while intoxicated and possession of controlled substance early Tuesday morning.
TTPD officers stopped Timothy Brooks at about 12:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Connella Street. When officers determined Brooks was intoxicated, according to police, they arrested him for a DWI without any hassle. Officers also found a plastic gallon jug labeled as “Sno Ball” syrup in the front seat of Brooks’ vehicle. The substance contained more than 56 ounces of codeine syrup, according to police. Officers claim to have found evidence Brooks had been drinking from the cup prior to his traffic stop.
Brooks was taken to the Bi-State Jail and remains in custody. His bond was set at $15,000 for the felony DWI charge and $50,000 for possession of a controlled substance. Brooks had three or more prior convictions of DWI and he also possessed more than 400 grams of a controlled substance, say police.
