The opener would make the third consecutive year that the Giants have opened on the road at Dallas and the fifth consecutive year New York has started their seasonal campaign as the away team.
Dallas is 8-1 against New York on Opening Day in series history. The Giants won their first game in Week 1 against the Cowboys in 2016 on Sept. 11 in a 20-19 game that was pock-marked by Dallas receiver Terrance Williams failing to run out of bounds to give the Cowboys another shot to drive down the field to get into field goal range.
The Cowboys are 6-4 against the Giants on NBC Sunday Night Football.
The full release of the 2017 NFL schedule will be at 7:00 p.m. Central Time Thursday.
