TTPD: failure to stop at red light caused accident

TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Police Department says that a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass failing to stop at a red light was the cause for a wreck at the intersection of Summerhill Road and College Drive late Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4:20 p.m.

The Cutlass, which was trying to turn west onto College Drive, reportedly failed to stop at the red light and hit a 2006 Ford pickup truck that was turning southbound onto Summerhill Road.

LifeNet responded to the scene, as did the TTPD. The driver of the Cutlass was transported to Wadley for treatment of minor injuries and was also cited for failure to stop at a stop line.
