Wacha goes for 500 career innings today at Yankees

NEW YORK — Michael Wacha hopes to cross 500 career innings pitched today with interleague start at Yankee Stadium. Wacha needs just 3.0 IP today to cross the 500 innings pitched milestone in his career.

Wacha increased his winning streak to six games, dating back to last season, with win over Cincinnati last week. The streak is tied for the fourth-longest active streak in the majors.

Today will be his second career start vs the Yankees. He got a no decision going seven innings giving up four hits leaving the game tied 3-3. The Cardinals would later lost 6-4 in 12 innings.

Wacha’s winning percentage is .618 (34-21) over the last four seasons ranks 16th across the majors.
