FAYETTEVILLE — Daryl Macon and Dusty Hannahs scored 17 and 16 points each to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks over the Missouri Tigers 92-73 Saturday at Bud Walton Arena.
Macon and Hannahs went 6-of-13 from 3-point range as the Razorbacks shot 43.5 percent from behind the line all night to finish with a 55.9 percent field goal percentage, a season-high. Macon also posted six assists, a career-high, while Hannahs grabbed three rebounds and made three assists.
The Razorbacks had 36 rebounds to the Tigers’ 35 rebounds. The Hogs were able to outscore the Tigers in second-chance points 15 to 9, as well as convert Missouri’s 14 turnovers into 25 points.
Arkansas started slow missing their first two shots, but went 9-of-12 to create a 25-14 lead midway through the first half. The Razorbacks then went on a 14-0 run to build a 21-point lead before going into halftime up 50-36. Missouri was unable to overcome the Hogs’ double-figure lead for the rest of the game. Arkansas led by as many as 22 with 17:00 left in the game. At no point during the game did the Tigers have a lead.
Saturday was the fifth straight time Arkansas has defeated Missouri during the tenure of Mike Anderson, who used to coach for the Tigers from 2006-11. The win also improves the Razorbacks’ record inside Bud Walton Arena to 90-14, which makes the Hogs one of two schools in the nation with 90 wins and less than 15 losses at home over the past six seasons.
Missouri will take to the road as they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
