Conference champions: Arkansas High clinches 5A South title with win over Hope

HOPE — The Arkansas High Razorbacks became conference champions for the first time since 2006 with a 45-7 victory over the Hope Bobcats Friday night at Bobcat Stadium.

Senior running back Cameron Collier led the Hogs with six carries for 158 yards and three touchdowns as the Arkansas High ground game churned out 283 yards on 20 carries. Sophomore running back Torie Blair provided the second-most rushing yards with 124 and a touchdown on nine carries. Blair also caught a pass for a 25-yard touchdown.

Senior receiver DeJordan Mask caught three passes for 39 yards, and senior receiver Drake Browning caught two balls for 24 yards. Ray Howard hauled in one catch for 11 yards.

Hogs quarterback Sean Foreback completed 7-of-11 for 99 yards and a touchdown.

The Arkansas High defense limited the Bobcats to 253 total yards. Quarterback Hunter Helms threw for 188 yards and a touchdown, while the Bobcats’ ground game produced 65 yards on 14 carries.

Arkansas High improves to 8-1 (6-0) on the season and will host the De Queen Leopards next weekend. Hope slips to 1-8 on the year and a 1-7 conference record. They will play the Magnolia Panthers next Friday.
