Nix, Browning share Arkansas High baseball MVP award

TEXARKANA — Arkansas High Razorbacks teammates Austin Nix and Drake Browning were named co-Most Valuable Player for the 2017 baseball team, head coach Layne Berry announced Monday night at the Texarkana Razorback Athletic Foundation All Sports Awards banquet.

Both players batted over .400 for the Hogs while Browning stole 20 bases and led Arkansas High to an 11-17 record with a 5-6 conference mark.

Nix and Browning were also named to the All-Conference team in the 6A West. Joining them was pitcher Dylan Adcock and utility player Jake Johnson.

Browning was the only Razorback named to the All-State team as the Hogs advanced to the quarterfinal round of a rain-ridden state tournament before being knocked off by host Benton.
