The Texas Rangers (43-44) extended their winning streak to 3 games with a  5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels (44-47) Saturday night in front of 36,817 fans in attendance at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The Rangers moved into sole possession of second place in the American League west with the win.The game started one hour late because of a rain delay.

Texas starter Tyson Ross (2-1) earned the victory throwing 5 and two-thirds innings allowing only 1-run on 4 hits.

Rangers win propelled by Beltre and Robinson home-runs

Rangers future hall of fame third baseman Adrian Beltre hit his 452nd career home run, and rookie Drew Robinson also homered for Texas. Beltre’s 2-run shot tied him with Carl Yastrzemski in 38th place on the all-time home run list.

Rangers extend winning strdak

Elvis Andrus returned to the Texas lineup after missing the previous 2 games on the MLB Paternity list. Andrus had another multi-hit performance which was his 31st multi-hit effort of the season. Andrus leads the team in multi-hit performances. Andrus has hit safely in his last 8 games.

Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor continues to swing a hot bat. Odor extended his current hitting streak to a career-best 10 games with an opposite field double in the 7th inning.

The Rangers and Angels wrap up their 3-game series going into the all-star break this afternoon with a 2:05 p.m. start. Yu Darvish will be the starting pitcher for Texas today.
