A Texarkana, Texas man was arrested Monday morning at his home on West 16th and charged with the shooting death of another Texarkana man.

Police said that 39-year-old Takyme Devon James shot tony Sanders to death Sunday in Sanders home after the two men were involved in a physical altercation over a bet on a football game.

Authorities said that James kicked Sanders kicked Sanders door in in the 3600 block of Jones Street and shot him with a hand gun. Sanders died at a nearby hospital.  James was booked in the Bi-State Jail.

Police said that they located James after an anonymous tip led them to a residence. He was taken into custody without incident.

Policed sadi that officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting at the residence on Jones Street at 9:52 Sunday night.

When polcie arrived  they said Sanders’ wife directed them inside the house where they found Sanders laying on the floor, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right hip.

Police said that their officers immediately provided first aid to Sanders. He was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center by LifeNet EMS, where he died, police said.

According to witnesses, James and Sanders were involved a physical altercation earlier in the day over a bet on a football game.
