TEXARKANA, TEXAS – The Texarkana Texas Police Department said they’re investigating the shooting death of 25-year-old Carlos Clark from Texarkana, Texas. They said that they’re treating the case as a homicide and an arrest of a suspect was mad.
Police said that Clark was shot to death early this morning (Saturday) at a gas station located at 5023 North Stateline Avenue.
Police said they were dispatched at 1:10 a.m. Saturday to the gas station where they discovered Clark in the back seat of a car shot in the back. Police said that he told them who allegedly shot him before being taken to a hospital where he died later this morning.
Video surveillance footage obtained by police showed a vehicle and a man fitting the suspect’s description, police said. Detectives were called to the scene to begin the investigation into the shooting.
Grandfather of suspect turned his grandson in
Police said that they were contacted by the grandfather of the shooting suspect who advised police that his grandson, 22-year-old Tyvon Gullatt of Texarkana, Texas was involved in the shooting.
The Texarkana, Police said that officers made contact with Gullatt in the 3900 block of Main St. and escorted him to the Bi-state Justice Center to speak with Detectives.
Shooting suspect charged with murder
Later in morning, police said that Tyvon Gullatt was charged with Carlos Clark’s murder. He is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail on a 1 million dollar bond.
