The Red River Credit Union Texarkana Razorbacks bats exploded and their pitching and fielding were flawless in a 24-0 win over Searcy in their first game at the 2017 American Legion state tournament at Bear Field on the Campus of the University of Central Arkansas Friday night. The game was broadcasted live on 94.1 FM ESPN radio in Texarkana, espntexarkana.com and 94.1 FM ESPN Texarkana on the Freed AM sports app.

The Razorbacks (29-8) were like men playing amongst boys. They batted around 3 times in the first 5 inning and starter Patrick Flanagan who prepped at Arkansas High pitched 5-innings, allowing 1-hit and was the winning pitcher of record.

Austin Stubber came in from the bullpen and mowed down Searcy batters like a row of trees being cut down by loggers in the Arkansas woods. Stubber pitched two innings of hitless ball, striking out five.

Razorback batters took batting practice against the Searcy pitchers. Hopefully it will help them in the rest of their games at the tournament.  Riley Orr was 4-for-6 with two doubles and 3 RBI’s, a walk and 4 runs scored. Michael Russ was 4-for-7 with a double and 4 RBI’s ,Beau Burson was 3-for-5  with a triple and double, Cole Boyd was 2-for-2 with 3 RBI’s and Kade Garmany drove in 4 runs.

The defending American legion world series champion Texarkana Arkansas Razorbacks play again today at 4 p.m. at Hendrix College. The game will be broadcasted live on 94.1 FM ESPN, ESPNTexakana.com and on the Freed AM Sports app. Michael DelGiorno will provide the play-by-play.

94.1 FM ESPN will broadcast all of the Texarkana Arkansas Razorbacks American legion games live from the state tournament. If Arkansas wins the tournament, they will advance to the regional in News Orleans and 94.1 FM ESPN will carry the games from New Orleans as well, if Texarkana makes it there.
