Texas Rangers (50-53) third baseman Adrian Beltre slugged hit number 2,999 with a single in the fourth inning and he was 1-for-4 and the Baltimore Orioles (49-54) downed Texas 4-0 in front of a packed house at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. The Orioles tied the 3-game series at one game apiece with game three slated for Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
Kevin Gausman (8-7, 5.40) was the winning pitvher for Baltimore and Austin Bibens-Dirkx (3-1, 4.80) was the losing pitcher for Texas. Zach Britton (7 saves, 3.44) earned the save for Baltimore.
Each time Beltre came to the plate the crowd came to their feet, especially in his last at bat in the ninth inning. With Beltre just one hit away from career 3,000; the Texas Rangers expect a huge walk up crowd for tomorrows matinee game.
Rangers get hits but no runs
Rangers betters belted 7 hits but they were unable to muster any runs. In Sunday’s loss; Shin Soo Choo and Rougned Odor led Texas with 2-hits each.
