

Citizens Police Academy registration is underway in Texarkana Arkansas.
The 4th annual police academy for citizens is taking applications through Friday January 18th. The Citizens Police Academy is a seven week program designed to give the public a working knowledge of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department. The goal of the academy is to educate the public about the police department. They also would like to better the relationship between the public and the department.
During the program, participants meet the Chief of Police and many of the officers and investigators. They also get first hand knowledge of crime prevention, and scenario demonstrations. They also learn how critical incidents, and major crimes are handled and investigated. Participants also learn about the emergency communications department and so much more.

Citizens Police Academy classes begin Tuesday January 29th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The classes will be in the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Training Room. It is located inside the Bi-State Justice Center Building. The program will run every Tuesday at that location. The program wraps up with the graduation on March 12th.
