
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers acquired outfielder John Andreoli from the Seattle Mariners via waiver claim, the club announced Tuesday.
The 28-year-old was designated for assignment on Jan. 10. Andreoli combined to produced a .230 batting average with no home runs and 4 RBI in 26 games with the Mariners and Orioles in his first major league action in 2018. The former Chicago Cubs 2011 17th-round pick spent part of last season with Triple-A Tacoma and batted .287 with a .798 OPS in 89 games.
The former UConn Husky owns a career batting average of .270 and .760 OPS over 773 minor league games in the past eight seasons. This is the third time since Aug. 2018 Andreoli has been acquired by a club via waiver claim.
Texas now has 39 players on their major league roster with the waiver claim acquisition.
