
PRESCOTT, Ark. – Ashdown (17-1, 9-0) outscored host Prescott in overtime last Friday 9-8 for a 48-47 victory.
The high-flying Panthers had their hands full all evening, trailing 10-9 after the first quarter, and 19-18 at halftime. Prescott (12-4, 6-3) led 28-24 going into the final eight minutes of regulation.
Kaiden Hunter led the winners with 16 points, while Jimmy Dunn added 14. Six-foot-8 senior Ryan Johnson scored 10 for the Curley Wolves, with Cory Hill leading the hometown crew with 13 points.
Ashdown will be back in action Tuesday night at home against Bismarck.
Atlanta roundballers host Queen City
In Northeast Texas games Tuesday Atlanta (24-3, 9-0) entertains Cass County rival Queen City in boys and girls games.
Pleasant Grove is the only Texarkana team at home Tuesday, hosting District 15-4A rival Pittsburg in girls and boys games. Liberty-Eylau’s girls and boys hope to keep pace in district with tough challenges at Paris. Texas High’s girls and boys invade Mount Pleasant.
