Henry, Watkins, L-K players selected players of the week

 

It has been memorable season for Lady Hawks

Pleasant Grove’s Shanequa Henry poured in 24 points, and the Lady Hawks wrapped up the District 15-4A championship this past week with a convincing 71-37 win over Pittsburg.

As a result Henry has been selected the Fox Sports Texarkana/Dewey Moore Ford Player of the Week after her performance against the Lady Pirates. Pleasant Grove is 26-3 overall and 7-0 in 15-4A play. The Hawks’ regular season ends Tuesday against Paris.

 

L-K players end Clarksville’s 15-year run

Linden-Kildare’s Ty Patterson and Marquise Jones share the KPYN/Dewey Moore Ford Player of the Week award after helping the Tigers upset Clarksville, 68-61.

Clarksville’s boys had not lost a district basketball game in 15 years.

Watkins’ outside shooting carries Fouke

Fouke’s girls captured undisputed possession of first place by defeating Genoa Central and Centerpoint this past week. The Lady Panthers are 22-3 on the season and 9-1 in conference, one game ahead of Centerpoint and Ashdown.

River Watkins is the ESPN Texarkana/Dewey Moore Ford Player of the Week. She scored 12 points in both wins, all coming on eight 3-pointers. Watkins also enjoyed an outstanding effort on defense, in the 46-38 win over Centerpoint.
