Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, Texas had 5 athletes sign with colleges on National signing day. They all signed on Wednesday in a ceremony held at the Pleasant Grove high school gym.
Seth Hopkins, signed to play baseball at Seminole State. Garrett Young signed to play basketball at the University of Dallas. James Wiggins signed to play football at Louisiana College. Kamren Woods signed to play football at Ouachita Baptist University and Avery Jensen signed to play soccer at Hendrix College.
“Coaches, administration, family, and friends joined the athletes to congratulate them on their post-secondary plans,” Shelby DeMuth, PGISD marketing and communications director said.

“This is an exciting time for our school and especially our athletes,” Athletic Director Josh Gibson said. “These young men and women have accomplished a goal that very few obtain. I want to thank each one of them for representing our school and community in exemplary fashion. I’m confident each student-athlete will make an impact on their new teams, and their new schools and communities. We wish them the best!”
Numerous Hawk athletes have received offers to other universities, the school said. The Hawks recently completed their football season as State Champion Runner-Up and hold the current district titles in Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Golf, Tennis, and Cross Country.
