Texas A&M University-Texarkana's Jared Davis lost his second game in three outings Thursday at eighth-ranked Oklahoma City, 8-3.

 

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Eighth-ranked Oklahoma City won its eighth straight game of the 2019 season Friday with an 8-3 victory over Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

It was the Eagles’ third straight loss, and they were never in contention, falling behind 4-0 in the second inning.

Texarkana got on the scoreboard in the fourth when Tye Holliday reached on an infield error. He eventually scored after stealing two bases.

Oklahoma City’s lead was 8-1 going to the ninth inning. Brayden Cook drove in the Eagles’ second run with a sacrifice fly, while Joe Pearman singled and scored on an error.

Oklahoma City outhits Eagles, 12-9

Five different players had two hits for the winners, who banged out 12 hits off Texarkana hurlers Jared Davis and Jon Boucher. Davis pitched well, but the Eagles committed four errors behind him. Cole Chambers had two singles for the Eagles.

Bryce Milligan was the winning pitcher for the Stars, with late relief from Chris Goldston.

The Eagles will be back in action Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against Central Methodist. They finish up Sunday against Bellevue (Neb.) at 12:30 p.m., and play Oklahoma City again at 3:30 p.m.
