OKLAHOMA CITY — No. 21 Central Methodist had aerie-field advantage as they dispatched the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles 7-1 Saturday afternoon.

Stranded runners was the undoing of A&M-Texarkana. In the sixth and seventh innings, TAMUT managed just one run despite loading the bases. Junior Cal Pequeno hit an RBI double to score Tim Frith in the seventh inning.

Central Methodist would take advantage of their loaded bases situations. A hit by pitch in the first inning scored their first run, and an RBI single in the second inning score another.

Junior Cole Chambers managed A&M-Texarkana’s first hit of the game in the fourth inning. However, he was a stranded runner and the score remained 2-0 Central Methodist.

Two sacrifice flies and an RBI single added to Central Methodist’s lead, and the victorious Eagles would score two more runs in the sixth inning off of an RBI double and an RBI single.

A&M-Texarkana drops to 46 and will host No. 23 Bellevue Sunday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a rematch with No. 8 Oklahoma City University.
