FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 12 Arkansas Baseball team completed an opening weekend sweep of Eastern Illinois Sunday afternoon at Baum-Walker Stadium. Sophomore Heston Kjerstad hit a walk-off single  in the bottom of the ninth for the Hogs and they beat the Panthers, 3-2.

It was Kjerstad’s second walk-off of his career.

Junior Jacob Kostyshock was the starter for Arkansas on the mound. He pitched five scoreless innings, striking out three and allowing 3 hits.

Matt Cronin, the razorbacks closer took the pill to the hill in the eight inning and he earned the save.

It was Arkansas’ 6th straight season opening sweep

The three-game sweep of Eastern Illinois was Arkansas’ sixth-straight to open a season. They’ve won every opening series since 2014.

the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team will head to California where they’ll battle  USC. The 3-game series will begin Thursday, Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. CT. Games two and three will be on Friday and Saturday with game time set for 8 p.m. both days. All three games will be broadcasted live on Fox Sports Texarkana 97.1 FM and 1400 AM, Texarkana’s radio station for Arkansas Baseball games live on the radio.
