Annual Ark-La-Tex Challenge is coming soon to the Texarkana area. The annual Bike ride benefits Texarkana Resources for the disabled.
Director Jennifer Lewis says, “When you participate in the Ark-La-Tex Challenge you are not only getting the unique experience of riding through three states in one ride, you are also cycling for change.
100% of the proceeds goes towards Texarkana Resources for the Disabled, Inc.

The Ark-La-Tex Challenge offers both novice and experienced cyclists a ride unlike many others. This ride will allow you to ride through three states in one ride. According to the website they offer five different distances to accommodate different cyclist levels. 35 Miles into the 70 mile route you will arrive at 3 states and get to take a victory photo standing in Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. Just the motivation you need half way through.
The website adds the following information as far as the bike rides are concerned.
This year’s ride will be on April 6th.
They have varying route lenghths which include:
70 Miles – Ark-La-Tex Challenge
52 Miles – Texas/Arkansas Loop
46 Miles – Arkansas/Texas Out and Back
35 Miles – Ark-La-Tex with Non-Supported Return
22 Miles – Arkansas/ Texas Challenge out and back
.5 Miles – Kids Ride/ Look Ma No Hands! (10 and under)
0 Miles – Spirit Rider to support the cause
Note – This year they will again NOT offer a 35 mile supported return. The route will still be posted if a 35 mile route is desired but riders will need to arrange their own transport for them and their bicycle back to the starting location.
NEW ROUTE – They will offer a .5 mile kids ride! Additionally, they will have bounce houses, popcorn machine, Kids activity area, and other fun kids activities post ride! S

Late Registration will be held at Berridge
Bikes on Friday 04/05/19 4-6pm along with early packet pick-up $5 late charge will be added to ride price for late registration.
NOTE: You can also register the morning of the event for $50.
This Monday February 25th Jennifer Lewis will be at the Golden Chick Restaurant on Richmond Road in Texarkana. Lewis will be there discussing the ride.
She will be a guest on the Leaving the Yard program with Chuck Zach and Tony Kirk on Fox Sports Texarkana.
They will be there from 5pm to 6 pm. She will be there talking about the ride on the radio. Lewis will also be raffling off tickets to help meet their fundraising goal for the Ark-La-Tex Challenge. Tickets will be 1 for $1 or 5 for $3. The prize will be a pair of Grizzlies versus Mavericks tickets. That game will be played in Dallas on Saturday, March 2nd.
