TEXARKANA, Arkansas – The Texarkana Police Department is seeking information in identifying mail theft suspects.

Police said earlier this month the photographed subject was captured on camera stealing mail from a residential area in Texarkana, Arkansas.

If anyone recognizes this vehicle, or the driver, please contact Det. Gatlin at 903-798-3154.

Steps to prevent Mail Theft

The US Postal Inspection Service recommends the following steps for protecting your mail:

  • Use the letter slots at your post office to mail letters, or give them to a letter carrier.
  • Pick up your mail promptly after delivery. Don’t leave it in your mailbox overnight.
  • Don’t send cash in the mail.
  • Ask your bank for “secure” checks that can’t be altered.
  • Tell your post office when you’ll be out of town, so they can hold your mail until you return.

And as always, if you see any suspicious persons or activity, call the police promptly.  Anyone with information of any crime is strongly urged to contact the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department at 903-798-3154 or Texarkana area CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP.
