
COMMERCE, Texas – Pleasant Grove scored one of the school’s most exciting wins over Crandall Tuesday at Texas A&M University-Commerce’s Fieldhouse in overtime, 76-67.
The Hawks (18-15) trailed 40-15 at halftime, but rallied with some incredible outside shooting in the final two quarter. Senior Kamren Woods was held scoreless in the first half, but poured in 24 points in the final half and overtime.
Noah Fawbush tallied 12 points before fouling out, with T’vondrick Henry contributing 12 points.
Hot-shooting Tigers top Atlanta
MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas – Dodge and Sammy Brown combined for 10 treys and 41 points Tuesday at Mount Pleasant High School as Commerce rallied to eliminate Atlanta from the Region II-3A playoffs, 74-66.
Dodge Brown led all scorers with 26 points, including six 3-pointers. The Tigers had 14 total treys, 10 coming in the middle quarter. Atlanta (31-5) led after the first quarter, 21-13, and 44-41 at intermission.
The Rabbs shot a blistering 53 percent from the field with eight 3-pointers. Charlie Powell led Atlanta with 18 points. Keshawn Easter and Damian Collins scored 14 each, while Hunter Allen adding 12.
Commerce (33-5) advances to the Region II-3A semifinals to be held on this same court.
Fouke girls eliminate Tuckerman
OSCEOLA, Ark. – Fouke’s girls are a step closer to the 3A state championship after eliminating Tuckerman Tuesday, 51-47.
The Lady Panthers (28-6) never trailed after taking a 13-10 lead in the first eight minutes. Fouke led 18-15 at halftime, and 37-27 going into the final quarter.
Fouke swished 10 treys in the game, four by senior Taylor Hardin, who surpassed the 1,000 career point mark for her career with 16 points. Larkin Smallwood had 13 points, and River Watkins buried three treys for 9 points, with Mallory Oliver contributing 8 points.
Tuckerman (24-13) was led by Natalie Shelton’s game-high 23 points.
Fouke plays the winner of Valley Springs-Atkins Thursday night at 7 p.m.
