PITTSBURG, Texas – Arkansas High has turned its softball season around early with wins over Liberty-Eylau and Pittsburg.
The Lady Backs (3-2-1) posted a lopsided 15-5 win over the Lady Leopards last weekend. They kept that momentum going Tuesday with an impressive 6-2 victory over Pittsburg.

Jordyn Standley went the distance in the circle, walking two and striking out 10. She also led Arkansas High at the plate with three hits and two RBI.
Fortenberry contributes to AHS win
Kaitlyn Fortenberry had two hits and two stolen bases for the Lady Backs. Adison Wright and Kailey Burns contributed two hits and an RBI, while Ajahi Cheatham added a run-scoring hit.
Pittsburg is coached by former Tulsa University star and Liberty-Eylau all-stater Lacey Middlebrooks.
Arkansas High will be back in action Thursday at the New Boston tournament.
