
BOSSIER CITY, La. – Chris Sutton’s fourth hit of the game Friday earned Texas High a 6-5 win over Airline in a nine-inning thriller.
The Tigers trailed 5-4 after three innings, tying the contest with a run in the fifth. Four Texas High pitchers (Rian Cellers, Connor Allred, Chris Sutton and Jackson Halter) combined for a solid showing on the mound.
Chris Lyles had two hits and scored twice for the Tigers, while Allred contributed two hits and two RBI. Halter drove in two runs with a hit.
Texas High is scheduled to play Captain Shreve and Parkway Saturday.
L-E drops two at Bobcat Classic
HALLSVILLE, Texas – Liberty-Eylau (2-9-2) dropped two games Friday in the Bobcat Classic.
Lucas Lovejoy beat the Leopards, 8-4. Matthew O’Neal, Blake Carter and Ethan Brooks pitched two innings each for L-E. Marzavin Riles had a triple and single to lead the Leopards at the plate. O’Neal drove in a run with a single.
Drew Langford was the losing pitcher when L-E dropped the nightcap to Hallsville, 5-3. Brooks had two hits for Liberty-Eylau, with Riles contributing a single.
L-E plays Marshall Saturday at 2 p.m.
Trinity Christian teams tumble
BRADLEY, Ark. – Bradley’s junior varsity baseball team beat Trinity Christian’s jayvees Friday, 3-2.
Hayden Honea and Zack Graf scored the Warriors’ runs, with Silas Nix driving home a run. Wil Smith and McCall Warren pitched for Trinity Christian.
The Lady Bears beat Trinity Christian’s softball team, 17-2. Rylee Davison and Sierra Cooper had one hit each for the Lady Warriors. Davison had three stolen bases and scored a run. Landi Williamson scored TC’s other run. Cooper pitched two innings, striking out four for the Warriors.
