IDABEL, Okla. – Arkansas High’s baseball team improved to 5-2 on the season with a pair of wins Saturday over two smaller Oklahoma schools.
The Razorbacks shut out Soper in five innings, 8-0. Floyd Hill went the distance on the mound for AHS, allowing one hit. He walked two and struck out five.
Braylon Bishop and Jackson Harris led Arkansas High at the plate with two hits each. Bishop scored twice and drove in another run. Harris scored a run and drove home two. Drake Browning doubled home two runs and he also scored. Freshman Brandon Anderson had Soper’s only hit.
Arkansas High scored three runs in the first and six more in the second on its way to an 11-3 win over Haworth.
Preston Bunch got the win on the mound in relief of Bishop, who walked four and struck out four in two innings. Shane Sutton also threw two innings for the Hogs.
Harris led the Razorbacks’ nine-hit attack with a triple and single. He drove in three runs and scored twice. Browning had a 2-run double and scored twice, while Cody Adcock doubled home two more runs. Bunch also had a run-scoring hit.
AHS also won easily Friday night at Hot Springs, 12-0. Cody Adcock hurled a no-hitter, walking one and striking out 11 in five innings. The Razorbacks broke the game open with five runs in the second and five more in the third.
Browning drove in four runs with a double and two singles, while scoring three runs. Harris plated three runs with two singles, and Bishop contributed a two-run double. Graydon Martin had two hits, and Adcock added a run-scoring single.
Trinity Christian tops Hope, 6-4
HOPE, Ark. – Paul Nix needed 108 pitches Friday night in leading Trinity Christian (3-1) past Hope, 6-4. He struck out eight Bobcats.
George Leopard led the Warriors at the plate with a triple and two doubles. Evan Miller and Brett King had one hit each.
