The Rangers won a 3-1 decision against the Dodgers on Monday night in Surprise.

Texas has won 3 of its last 4 games overall, as well as 5 straight at Surprise Stadium. The game remained scoreless until the 5th inning, when the Rangers tallied a pair of runs. Delino DeShields led off the frame with a single to center field and scored 3 batters later on a sacrifice fly by Shin-Soo Choo. With the single, DeShields extended his on-base streak to 12 games, a stretch in which he has batted .375 (12-32) with 7 runs scored. Choo also singled twice and has now reached via hit or walk in 9 of his 11 games this spring.After Choo’s sac fly, Rougned Odor made it 2-0 with an RBI single that scored Jeff Mathis, who had followed DeShields’ single with a walk.

Odor finished 3-for-4 with 3 singles and has gone 11-for-26 (.423) over his last 10 contests. Mathis leads the Rangers with 7 walks this spring. Starter Mike Minor exited with the bases empty and one out in the 4th inning after tossing 3.1 scoreless innings. It marked the 2nd scoreless outing in 4 spring starts for the left-hander. Minor permitted baserunners in each of his first 3 innings, but ended two of the frames with strikeouts and one with a ground ball double play to escape harm. Brett Martin came on in relief of Minor to finish the remainder of the 4th inning and logged 2.1 scoreless innings. Martin has yet to allow an earned run this spring in 9.0 innings pitched.

Elvis Andrus singled through the right side on a hit and run play in the 1st inning, extending his hit streak to 5 games. In the 8th inning, he drove in the Rangers’ 3rd run of the night with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly. Overall, Andrus is batting .500 (13-26) in his 10 games this spring, with hits in 9 of 10. Connor Sadzeck tossed 1.1 shutout innings after entering with traffic on base in the 7th, and also stranded the bases loaded with a strikeout to end the 8th. Minor leaguer Blake Bass registered a scoreless 9th inning to earn the save.

The Rangers travel to Maryvale on Tuesday for a 3:05 p.m. CT matchup against the Brewers. RHP Lance Lynn (0-1, 6.75) is slated to start for the Rangers against Milwaukee RHP Chase Anderson (0-2, 8.10).
