Bacone (Okla.) got a rude welcoming Tuesday at George Dobson Field from Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
The Eagles swept a doubleheader, scoring four runs in the first inning of the opener on their way to a 15-0 win. TAMU-T never trailed in the nightcap either with an 8-2 victory. The Eagles improve to 20-15 overall with the non-conference sweep. Bacone is located in Muskogee.
Jordan Johnson was the first of four Texarkana pitchers in the first game, earning the win. Keone McKee led the Eagles at the plate with three singles, three runs scored and an RBI. Cal Pequeno drove in four runs with a double and single.
Holliday continues torrid hitting streak
Tye Holliday continued his hot hitting with two singles, two runs scored and two RBI. Tim Frith contributed a two-run single, while Jake McDonald added a two-run double.
Coach Steve Jones used six pitchers in the second game, with Zac Harrington getting the win.
Cal Hodgins was the only Texarkana batter with two hits in the nightcap. He scored two runs and drove in another. Joe Pearlman added a two-run double, while McDonald plated two more with a double. Cole Chambers had a run-scoring triple.
McKee scored twice and singled. Brayden Cook added a double, and Parker DePasquale had a single.
