Road repairs will be ongoing on West 7th Street in Texarkana, Texas this week.
The Texas side police department advises that starting Tuesday, the Texas Department of Transportation will be working on West 7th.
The work will be underway between Apple Street and State Line Avenue.
They will be making repairs to some of the old pavement and repaving the entire roadway. They will also be re-striping the traffic lanes between Milam Street and Texas Blvd. This will reduce the number of lanes from three down to two. This will create a 9 foot shoulder on each side of the roadway that should help make for safer driving. They expect that the work is going to take about two months to complete.
During these road repairs, there will likely be times that there will only be one lane open to traffic during this time as crews work to complete the job. If you go that way, police say please allow a little extra time to get where you are going and keep a close watch out for workers.
