WACO, Texas – Lance Ford drove in four runs to lead No. 12 Texas Baseball to an 8-6 come-from-behind win over Baylor Saturday at Baylor Ballpark.

The Longhorns (21-13, 4-4 Big 12) waited around for almost three hours to get the game started as there was severe weather in the area. After the delay, Baylor came out firing and jumped out to a 5-0 lead. The Bears scored three in the first and two in the fifth before Texas had an answer.

The Longhorns got back into the game with four runs in the sixth inning, starting with a two-run homer by Austin Todd.

With two outs and the bases clear after Todd’s homer, Texas managed to scratch across two more runs. Masen Hibbeler singled, Tate Shaw walked and Peter Geib singled on the infield to load the bases. Lance Ford came through with a clutch two-run single through the left side of the infield to make the score 5-4.

Ford finished the game 2-for-4 with four RBI. Shaw and Todd each drove in two runs.

Texas jumped in front with a three-run seventh inning to go up 7-5. Three-straight free-passes by Eric Kennedy, Ryan Reynolds and Hibbeler loaded the bases with two outs. Shaw came through with a go-ahead two-run single to right field.

A walk by Zach Zubia loaded the bases back up and Lance Ford was hit by a pitch to drive in one more run in the inning.

Blair Henley struggled at the start, giving up five runs on nine hits through the first five innings. But in his final two innings of work he allowed just one base runner and finished with seven innings pitched.

Tristan Stevens came out of the bullpen with one runner on in the eighth and got the Longhorns out of a jam.

Texas added an insurance run to its lead in the ninth on an RBI double by Ford.

Kamron Fields slammed the door in the ninth inning to record his third save of the season. He finished the game with a strikeout.

Texas will go for the series win over Baylor on Sunday at 3:35 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark.
