Composting will be the topic for the Bowie County Master Gardener Event. This months session is Monday April 8th from 6 to 8pm.
The event is hosted by Texas A&M-Texarkana. It will take place in Room 306 of the university’s Science and Technology Building. The class is free and open to the public and no reservations are required. The Program’s Speaker will be David Waldroup from Texarkana Water Utilities. Waldroup is also a Miller County Master Gardener. He will be discussing the co-composting operation at the South Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
This composting process allows a considerable amount of material to be diverted from being land filled. It also provides a very beneficial and usable end product that can be returned back to the community.
Waldroup will also be answering any questions you may have about Texarkana Water Utilities compost. He will also talk about how it can be a great asset to your landscape.
