Spring Lake Park Trail Reconstruction on Council Agenda



Spring Lake Park Trail reconstruction on the agenda for tonight’s Texarkana Texas City Council meeting.

The council will consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Tatum Excavating Company. It will be for an amount not to exceed $65,675. It would be to reconstruct the trail at Spring Lake Park.

This would use funds from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Recreational Trails Program Grant.

The council will also consider approving the preliminary budget calendar for fiscal year 2020. There will also be a rezoning issue on the agenda. This would be for rezoning from Single Family-1 to Planned Development -Neighborhood Service. The council will also consider site plan approval for the 3.32 acre tract of land which is located at 5203 North Kings Highway.

The other main agenda item is to amend the City Code of Ordinances to allow a limited exception for competitive sporting events at Bringle Lake.

Finally, there will be a couple of presentations. One involves the Pleasant Grove High School Journalism Department. The other involves the fact that April is National Safe Digging Month.

It’s also possible the council would go into closed executive session.

The public is invited to attend the open portions of this evening’s meeting that gets underway at 6pm at Texas side City Hall.
