Alcohol is a contributing factor in Sexual Assaults according to the Texarkana Texas Police Department.
Texas side police say they want to continue to shine a light on this heinous crime that has effected way too many people in our country and right here in our own community. Authorities say, a person who sexually abuses someone will often use drugs to increase their victim’s vulnerability. Of course, alcohol is the most commonly used drug. Did you realize that 96 percent of drug related assaults involved alcohol consumption prior to the assault? It’s true.
Remember that a person who is substantially impaired CANNOT give consent. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
