Golf USA’s Demo Day at the Texarkana Golf Ranch was a success according to the course’s general manager Hunter Campbell.
“It was a good day; the weather was incredible. I’d call it a success,” said Campbell. “We were hoping for more people, but you never get as many as you want.”

It was a busy event for Golf USA’s Tom Parsons, who was filling out lots of fitting sheets. He was hopeful of selling clubs to many who paid $10 to test the new equipment and promote junior golf in the Texarkana area.
Golfers of all levels were testing Ping, Callaway, Taylormade, Mizuno, Titleist, Cleveland/Srixon and Tour Edge clubs.

“They all had the newest equipment,” said Campbell. “You could get hooked up to their ipads, which would give you feedback in regard to fitting, ball speed, club speed, spin, distance, and all that kind of stuff.
“We had a college golfer from Southern Arkansas University over here test all the clubs. We had a person win a meal at Roadhouse. He put up five dollars and got three balls, then hit our target area from eighty yards.”

Parsons echoes Campbell’s sentiments
Parsons echoed Campbell’s sentiments regarding the weather and the event’s success.
“All in all, I think it was a great day,” he said. “We had a good flow of people who came out and took advantage of it. I think we raised some decent money for the Ranch’s MGA to do something for the junior community here.

“I don’t see why we wouldn’t do this again next year. Obviously, the weather plays a big part in it. We were really, really lucky this year.”
Parsons indicated the Ping and Callaway booths were very active. The Mizuno representative had a neat setup to fit golfers.
“These guys are all seasoned professionals at what they do,” concluded Parsons. “They all do a great job. I just want to thank the Texarkana Golf Ranch, MGA and Roadhouse for coming out to help raise money for a good cause.”
