TEXARKANA, USA – DownTown TinkerTown 2019 with hands-on make & take activities focused on arts, crafts, stem projects and good old’ fashioned tinkering will take place at Discovery Place Interactive Museum and downtown Texarkana along Broad Street on May 11th from 9 am until 3 pm this year.
This year, the event will be entirely FREE to the public through the Sponsorships of community supporters Ledwell Machinery, the Patterson Troike Foundation, Farmers Bank & Trust, Main Street Texarkana and the many committed Activity Presenters manning stations from jump rope making, pop rocks, Lego math, blinky bugs, solar oven smores and more! Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts alike will also find opportunities to earn badges at some of the locations featured. The activities aren’t just simple spaces where vendors hand out fliers about their products, but children participate in hands-on activities and go home with an expanded knowledge, not even realizing they’ve been learning rather than playing.
“We’ll have activities at Discovery Place where we ask everyone to stop in and get their FREE armband. We’ll have 250 tote bags to distribute and we’ll get you registered for Door Prizes being given away for prizes such as I-Jump gift cards and movie passes. We’ll get you a map to all the activities and then you’re off to explore DownTown and tinker around” says Velvet Cool, Board President.
RSVP’s can be made at TexarkanaMuseums.org/
