Queen City rehires Eric Droddy to lead the Bulldogs' football team and other athletic programs.

QUEEN CITY, Texas – Eric Droddy has been rehired as athletic director and head football coach at Queen City High School. The Bulldogs’ last playoff appearance came in 2013, which just happens to be the Bulldogs’ last winning season under Droddy’s leadership.

Droddy’s first stint as athletic director and head football coach at the Class 3A Cass County school lasted three years. His last two football teams were young, finishing 2-8 and 1-9. He’s back at Queen City to resume his same position after leaving New Waverly High School, where he was the offensive coordinator and assistant softball coach.

“It’s like homecoming for me and my family,” said Droddy. “We love the Queen City community, the friends we made, and the relationships we had with the students. We’ve stayed in touch with many of them over the last four years.

“Personally, I am very excited about what the future holds for the Queen City athletic program overall. I look to continue the current successes there as well as working to create new ones across the board.”

His 19-year coaching career includes stops at Bellaire High School, Mount Pleasant High School, Crockett High School, and Branch Crossing Junior High in The Woodlands.

Droddy, and his wife (Lisa) of 24 years, have five children. Easton, 22, is a 2015 graduate of Queen City. Parker is 22, and 18-year-old Jaiden will graduate this month. His son Kieran will be a junior next year, and his daughter Teagan will enter the fifth grade.
