
Hundreds of First Responders were treated to free breakfast on the lawn of the Texarkana USA Chamber Office on North State Line Avenue this morning in Texarkana. The breakfast kicked off the 4th Annual EMS Appreciation Week First Responder’s Day.
First Respnoder’ Day is sponsored by Texarkana Emergency Center, Farmers Bank and Trust, Fox Sports Texarkana 97.1 FM and 1400 AM, First Baptist Texarkana, Arklatex 100, For All Brand Kid, Ledwell, Texarkana USA Chamber of Commerce, Texarkana Funeral Home, Big Jakes Bar-B-Que and LifeNet. The event allows all Fist Responders including EMS, all Law Enforcement and Firefighters to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner free. This morning’s breakfast was prepared by the kitchen staff at First Baptist Church-Moore Lane and delivered by the church to the Chamber lawn.

Fox Sports Texarkana broadcasted live from the breakfast that featured the Mayors of both cities of Texarkana’s arrival, a prayer from pastor Jeff Shreve, the pledge of allegiance from a local boy scout troop and a proclamation for Mayors Allen Brown (Texarkana, Arkansas) and Bob Bruggeman (Texarkana, Texas) declaring today First Responder’s Day in Texarkana, USA.
Frist Responders can stop by any Texarkana Big Jakes Bar-B-Cue location today for a free meal for lunch or dinner. The meal consists of a free sandwich, any meat, non-fired side and drink.
Fox Sports Texarkana will broadcast live today from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. at Big Jakes at 1521 Arkansas Boulevard and big Jakes at 5710 Richmond Rd in Texarkana, Texas from 4 p.m. till 6 p.m.
The Mayors are expected to arrive via LifeNet Helicopter at the Richmond Road location weather permitting.
