
The Texarkana Twins suffered a lose to the reigning champions the Victoria Generals Sunday night 10-6 in Victoria. It was the first loss of the season for the Twins. Their record now is 2-1 as they look to avoid the series Monday night.
For the second straight game, the Twins jumped out to a quick lead over their opponents. Sunday it was a 4-0 lead for the Twins after the top of the first. The Generals answered back with two in the bottom of the first. The scoring continued for both teams through the first three innings. The end of the third inning the score was Twins five and the Generals four. General’s third baseman Johnson hit a 2 run home run to bring the score to 4-5.
Generals took the lead in the sixth
The Generals took the lead for the first time in the bottom of the sixth inning going up 6-5. Then in the top of the seventh inning, Lee Thomas hit a double to tie the game up. After that, the Generals never looked back. The General’s stole home to put the Generals up one and their lead grew till it was 10-6 at the end of eight.
Twins play tomorrow night against the Victoria Generals to avoid the series sweep.
