EA Sports revealed right guard Zack Martin to be the highest rated Dallas Cowboys player in the new Madden 2020 rankings.
Martin, who has made Pro Bowl in each of his five seasons along with three first-team All-Pro selections, is certainly a natural to be the Cowboys’ highest rated player.
Second place was a three-way tie with running back Ezekiel Elliott, left tackle Tyron Smith, and center Travis Frederick each possessing a 94 rating. Again, the ranking makes sense given the fact all three players have secured first-team All-Pro selections along with Pro Bowl nods.
Coming in fifth place was cornerback Byron Jones with a 91. The former 2015 first-round pick earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2018, and it appears that the video game developers are taking note of his skill in the Dallas secondary.
Receiver Amari Cooper and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence were tied for sixth place with 89 ratings respectively. Both are integral parts of their units. Cooper may have saved the Cowboys’ season after the trade with the Oakland Raiders that sent him over after Dallas’ 3-4 record by the bye week. Lawrence has produced double-digit sack seasons the past two years.
Linebacker Leighton Vander Esch is the eighth-highest rated Cowboy on the list with an 86 rating, the result of a stellar rookie season. Ninth-place goes to linebacker Jaylon Smith with an 85 rating.
The 10th slot is a tie between punter Chris Jones and linebacker Sean Lee with an 84.
Two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott earned an 81 rating, the 13th-best on the team, just behind tight end Jason Witten’s 83 rating, even though the 37-year-old has been out of the league for one season.
