Texas High

TEXARKANA, Texas – Two great programs at Texas High School have a new home with the opening of the new Tiger Studio on the campus.  Their 10,000 square foot studio has multiple amenities to help further student’s educational success.

The Tiger Vision area includes 20 Apple iMac Labs fully integrated with Apple Multi-Media Software, including Final Cut Pro.  Their State-of-the-Art Control Room has multiple work stations for all areas of media production.  The TV set has three fully active simultaneous newsroom sets including an anchor set, talk show set, and green room with a private sound booth for audio recordings.

The new mobile production unit is equipped with a top of the line broadcast systems, used for Texas High Athletics and other extra curriculars. The Texas HighSteppers also benefit from the new Tiger Studio.  The room includes a mirrored practice studio with locker rooms equipped with showers, dressing areas, restrooms, and individual lockers.  Before the Tiger Studio, the HighSteppers used to have to find places to practice that weren’t already occupied and haul around gear and speakers.  The new sound system and costume storage closets allow the HighSteppers to have their own home at Texas High.  The school is also taking advantage of the space, when available, for student standardized testings.

Also revealed on Thursday is the new Texarkana ISD Child Nutrition Department’s menu for the 2019-2020 school year.  TISD Executive Chef Cory House introduced their new diverse menu options, including ethnic cuisines from India, Asia, Italy, Thailand, France, Greece, Mexico, among others.  The TISD Child Nutrition Department has been recognized by the Texas Department of Agriculture as a Best of the Bunch Award recipient for their efforts in incorporating more Texas products into meals and teaching children about healthy lifestyles and Texas agriculture.  It is estimated that over one-fourth of the TISD food budget is spent within the state of Texas.

TISD Food Truck
