
Torie Blair usually does his damage as an Arkansas High running back. Blair’s versatility was on stage in last Friday’s 27-26 win over Camden Fairview.
Blair is the Fox Sports Texarkana/Dewey Moore Ford Player of the Week after catching a touchdown pass, returning a punt for six points, and setting up the winning score.
The 180-pound junior got the Razorbacks on the scoreboard early with a 24-yard TD catch from quarterback Braylon Bishop. He returned a punt 80 yards in the second quarter for the Hogs’ third score.
Fairview scored three unanswered touchdowns to capture a 26-20 lead in the fourth quarter. Blair’s 54-yard reception of a Bishop pass with 1:42 left in the game set up the decisive TD.
Gators’ quarterback is ESPN Texarkana selection
Foreman quarterback Isaac Carver accounted for two big scoring plays in the Gators’ 28-20 win over Dierks. He is the ESPN Texarkana/Dewey Moore Ford Player of the Week.
Carver scored early on a 75-yard run. Moments later he throw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Keantae Oglesby.
Mustangs’ entire team earns KPYN honor
Hughes Springs’ entire team is the KPYN/Dewey Moore Ford Players of the Week after surprising Jefferson, 29-28.
Trayvon Kennedy’s 4-yard touchdown run was the decisive score in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs’ defense then stopped Jefferson at the Mustangs’ 1 as time expired. Kennedy ran for 127 yards and two TDs, with Isaiah Bolden adding 117 yards.
The win gets Hughes Springs back in the District 7-3A Division I title race after losing its league opener to Mount Vernon. The Mustangs play at Atlanta Friday night in another key district encounter.
