A 41 year old Texarkana man was struck and killed early this morning after getting out of his vehicle on 369 at Jarvis Parkway in Texarkana, Tx., this morning. Police said the man was attempting to retrieve something that had fallen off his vehicle while he was driving down the road.
Police said that another southbound vehicle hit him while he was apparently looking for the item in the roadway. It does not appear the the other driver could have done anything to avoid this at all, police said.
Texarkana Man killed has been identified by police
The man that was killed has been identified as Charles French. Police said that Mr. French was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Please keep Mr. French’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers today, as well as the other driver”, the Texarkana Police said on their Facebook Page. “This is a very tragic event for everyone involved.”
