Representatives from AEP/SWEPCO were on hand at Texas A&M University-Texarkana this morning. They presented an AEP Foundation grant of $250,000 to the university for installing a Computer Aided Design lab for the engineering program.
Dr. Brian Mathews, Assistant Professor of Management at Texas A&M University-Arkansas was elated.
“It’s a great day to be an Eagle,” Dr. Mathews said. “Thanks to the AEP Foundation for awarding A&M-Texarkana with a grant to fund a CAD Engineering Lab.”
Dr. Mathews said the lab will create unprecedented opportunities for TAMUT students to engage in hands-on learning and graduate with the skills needed to become remarkable engineers.
“Thanks to Drs. Emily Cutrer and Gary Stading and Kenny Irizarry, Lecturer of Engineering, for leading this initiative, Dr Mathews said. “This is a blessing!”
