Texarkana man shot after apparent home invasion

TEXARKANA, TEXAS – The Texarkana Texas Police Department said they’re investigating an overnight home invasion and shooting that left a 29 year old man in critical condition.

Officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting at the River Crossing Apartments, located at 1021 College Drive, at 1:19 saturday morning, Texarkana Police said.  TTPD said when their officers arrived, they found the man inside his apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victims wife told police that they were awakened by someone kicking at the door of the apartment.  Police said the victim got up to investigate as the intruders gained entry into the apartment and he was allegedly shot outside the bedroom.

The man who was shot is in critical condition

The victim was transported by Lifenet EMS to Wadley Regional Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition, police said.
