
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Dillard University converted 21 of 43 3-pointers Saturday to sweep its two-game series with Texas A&M University-Texarkana, 97-81.
Junior college transfers Tyrell Alcorn and Elijah Moore combined for 59 points. The duo made 19 of 31 treys. Alcorn led Dillard with 30 points, sinking 10 of his long-range bombs.
The Eagles had their heroes, too. Senior Desmond Kennedy and sophomore Connor Ouellette continued their outstanding play. Kennedy led Texarkana with 23 points, with six treys. Ouellette had 22 points, with a team-high 6 rebounds and 3 steals. He buried 4 of 8 3-pointers as the Eagles converted 16 treys.

The taller Dillard team outrebounded the Eagles, 43-31.
TAMU-T will be back in action Wednesday at home against the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. The Eagles then participate in the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Classic. They play the host team Friday, and Angelo State Saturday.
In other action Saturday, Texas A&M-Texarkana’s women won their second game of the year. The Eagles beat Champion Christian in Hot Springs, 62-53. No other information was available.
