Former conference rivals Southern Mississippi and Tulane will play in the Armed Forces Bowl. The Golden Eagles and Green Wave were original members of Conference USA when the league began in 1995. The Armed Forces Bowl is Jan. 4 on the TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas. Tulane left Conference USA in 2014 for the American Athletic Conference. Southern Miss is still in C-USA. Tulane is going to bowl games in consecutive seasons for the first time in school history. Southern Miss has its fifth consecutive winning season. That includes all four seasons for coach Jay Hopson.
