The Dallas Cowboys have officially informed coach Jason Garrett that he will not return to the team, according to multiple reports.

Over the weekend, the Cowboys interviewed former Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis and former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy.

Garrett finished his ninth season with the team with an 8-8 record and failed the qualify for the playoffs, a disappointing conclusion to a season that many predicted Dallas would at least repeat as NFC East champions.
