PITTSBURG, Texas – Liberty-Eylau’s girls basketball team captured a share of first place in district Saturday by defeating Pittsburg, 59-39.
The Lady Leopards improve to 13-8 overall, while the host Lady Pirates fall to 8-6 on the season.
Eliyah Howard paced the Leopards’ offense with 17 points and four assists. Kayla Crabtree scored 13 points, while contributing five steals. Janiya Sanders added 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Lady Backs win basketball tilt against Benton
Staijah Taylor scored 12 points, while Jamyia Montgomery added 11 points Saturday in leading Arkansas High girls basketball team past Benton at Razorback Gym, 41-38.
AHS led 30-27 going into the fourth quarter. Benton’s Rhema Riley led all scorers with 22 points.
The Lady Backs stand 6-6 on the season, while Benton falls to 3-9. AHS plays at Hot Springs next Tuesday.
Razorbacks 52, Benton 51
Jordan Jones’ long 3-pointer from the baseline with one second left gave Arkansas High’s boys a thrilling basketball win over Benton.
Benton didn’t trail until the fourth quarter, and never by more than one point.
The Razorbacks are now 8-4 on the year, with Benton falling to 9-4.
Jaylon Randle led Arkansas High’s offense with 25 points, while Nick Watson added 14 points and nine rebounds.
