New Boston boys, girls sweep district games at Queen City

QUEEN CITY, Texas – New Boston’s boys and girls swept past Queen City Tuesday night on the Bulldogs’ court.


New Boston rolled past the Bulldogs, 63-36.

Jamin Powell led the Lions with 22 points, six rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Kyle Atkinson added 17 points, two rebounds and a steal, while Javeon Brown contributed eight points and nine rebounds.

Queen City (5-16, 0-3) was led by T’Angelo Neal and Dylan Scott with 10 points each. Neal also had seven rebounds and seven steals. Scott also pulled down seven rebounds and a steal. Adorian Booth had eight points, nine rebounds, three blocks and a steal.

The Bulldogs travel to Paul Pewitt on Friday.

New Boston outscores Lady Dawgs

Victoria Durns led the Lady Lions with 14 points, one rebound and three steals to lead New Boston past Queen City, 61-31.

Carly Ratcliff added 10 points, six rebounds and three steals for the Lions.

Queen City was led by Hannah Fitts with a game-high 16 points, three rebounds, three blocks and a steal. Erica Jones had six points, with Nyla Harrison adding four points and four steals.
