Spruce Street shooting being investigated by TTPD

TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating a shooting the took place on Friday morning in the 2300 block of Spruce Street.

According to police, just before 11:00 a.m. on Friday, officers were dispatched to find a 32-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds lying in the front yard of a residence in the 2300 block of Spruce Street.

Police say that as officers arrived they saw a black male running from the scene and carrying what officers believed to be a pistol in his hand. According to police, the officers pursued the man into the wooded area northwest of the residence. However, police say that they quickly lost sight of the man. A perimeter with a K-9 unit was setup in the area to assist with the search, but the man has not been located, according to police.

According to police, the victim was transported by ambulance to Wadley Regional Medical Center. The injuries are believed to be non-life threatening and the victim is listed in stable condition, police say.
